MACON — Mr. Roy Edward Varnum, 75, of Flovilla, Ga., passed away Sunday, Dec. 13, 2015, at Coliseum Medical Center in Macon, Georgia.
Mr. Varnum was born on Tuesday, March 26, 1940, in Fort Valley, Georgia, to the late Lee Roy Varnum and the late Margaret Barfield Varnum Riddle. He is preceded in death by his stepfather, Ensign Riddle. Mr. Varnum was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed hunting, restoring old tractors, radio controlled model airplanes, boating and spending time with his family.
Mr. Varnum is survived by his wife, Mae Lummus Varnum; brothers, Jimmy Varnum and Gerald Varnum; sister, Ann Middlebrooks; several nieces and nephews.
The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Funeral services for Mr. Roy Varnum will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2015, in the Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Mr. Rudy L. Mangham officiating.
