Former resident of Sumter County missing in Lanier County

LAKELAND — Authorities are searching for a missing Lanier County man.
Brandon Lee Helms, 42, went missing Sunday night, according to the Lanier County Sheriff’s Office.
The missing man is described as a white male, 5 feet 11 inches tall and approximately 142 pounds with blue eyes and brown hair.
Sgt. John Olsen, detective with the Lanier County Sheriff’s Office, said, “He is not wanted for a crime, but family and authorities are concerned for his safety and have been unable to contact him.”
Helms was formerly a resident of Sumter County. A correspondent from the Valdosta Daily Times informed the Times-Recorder that it is possible Helms may have traveled to the Americus area.
Authorities are asking for anyone who knows the whereabouts of Helms or has any information to contact the Lanier County Sheriff’s Office at 229-482-3545 or by calling 911.
