MARSHALLV ILLE — Robert Bussey Findlater, 92, of Americus, Ga., passed away on Monday, Dec. 14, 2015, at The Oakes in Marshallville, Ga.
A graveside service was held at 3 p.m. EST on Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2015, at Lakeview Memory Gardens in Phenix City, Ala.
Mr. Findlater was born on Aug. 19, 1923, in Lee County, Ala., the son of the late Henry B. Findlater and Maude Floyd Findlater. He retired from the Americus Times-Recorder as circulation manager and worked for The Ledger Enquirer for many years. He also opened a restaurant in Americus in 1975, that was open for seven  years. He was a member of Lions Club of Americus and First United Methodist Church.
Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Louise Hobbs Findlater; a sister, Maude Dudley; brothers George and Henry Findlater and great-granddaughter Elaina Scott.
He is survived by his daughter Laura Smith, husband Larry; three  grandchildren, Leslie Scott, husband Kevin, Lindsey Smith Day and Lauren Morrison, husband Michael; several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
