PERRY — Elizabeth Parsons Ledger of 479 Clements Road, Americus died Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016 at Heart of Georgia Hospice in Perry. Mrs. Ledger, a life time resident of Sumter County, was born Jan. 21, 1938, the daughter of the late George and Arrie Parsons. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church where she was in the WMU, sang in the choir and was an assistant pianist. Mrs. Ledger enjoyed her hobbies of sewing, playing the piano, cooking and crocheting. She also spent many good times gardening, reading and spending time with her family.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17, 2016, at Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Steven Golden officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors from 4-6 p.m. Saturday, Jan.16 at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel. The family suggests that contributions be made to Gideons International Americus Cam, P.O. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-laws, Raymond Allen and Jennifer Ledger of Americus and Jesse Lee and Jenny Ledger of Perry; one sister, Lilyann Peterman of Tallahassee, Fla., and four grandchildren, Matthew Allen Ledger of Annapolis, Md., Jeremy George Ledger of Americus, Daniel Lee Ledger of Perry, and Rebecca Kay Ledger of Perry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse George Ledger, and a sister, Sarah Reid Spillers.
