Youngs have family to visit
Last Tuesday Bobby and Nancy Young of Ellaville had unexpected family guests from Fitzgerald: Eddie and Evie Mae Goodman, Bobby’s first cousin on his mother’s side of the family. These two men have always been real close even when they were boys.
It’s always a pleasure to have guests to surprise you with a special visit like this one, and to be able to out about other family members

The Schley County Family Connections meets at noon Jan. 28 at the Thomas Edwin Wall Post 191 American Legion.

Walmart Express store to close
Ellaville Mayor David Theiss contacted me on Jan. 15 with the news that Walmart is closing  all of their 102  “Express Format” stores, including the one in Ellaville.
The mayor said Walmart increased all local sales tax receipts and really contributed to the SPLOST that benefits all of our citizens.
The local store will close before the end of the month. The mayor said local merchants need to do what they can to prepare for any changes it will bring. He also said if he can be of any assistance to anyone through this change, to let him know.
