Schley County 4-H’ers attend Rock Eagle
Four students represented Schley County at the Junior and Senior 4-H District Project Achievement (DPA) held at Rock Eagle Feb. 5-7. Approximately 500 Georgia students in grades 7-12 attend the annual project competition.
Seventh grader Caleb Smith placed 1st in the Physics/Biology/Earth Science competition. Eight grader Anna Trussell also placed 1st for her project in the History competition. Shiann Smith, also an 8th grader, placed 3rd. Mari Beth Arthur, a 10th grader, placed 3rd for her Sheep and Goats Meat project. In addition to the competition, all of these students participated in group discussions, recreational activities and assembly programs. Brenda Welch, Schley County’s Extension associate, accompanied the students to their competition.

Ellaville Methodist Church Choir sings
at Perfect Care
On Feb. 4, the Ellaville United Methodist Church Choir visited Perfect Care in Americus to entertain the residents with their lovely voices and Instruments.
Those participating from the church were the Rev. Jonathan Beckum, Jody, Donna and Payton Dillard, Judah, Kieley and Benjamin Rayburn, Judy McClellan, Barbara Usry, Darlene Lewis, Sharon Wall, Ty Gill, Evelyn Stembridge and Olivia Mallicheck and Choir director Mary Nan Pilcher.
Jonathan played and sang several songs and ended the entertainment service with prayer.
Schley County Family Connection to meet
On Thursday, Feb. 25, the Schley County Family Connection meets at the Thomas Edwin Wall Post 191 American Legion. Dinner will be served at noon.
The business session follows with a review of the Schley County Family Connection annual plan for 2017. Michael Johnson, Family Connection Partnership, is guest speaker.
