Nationally-ranked ‘Canes golf finishes 15th in Valdosta

VALDOSTA – The No. 14-ranked Georgia Southwestern State University golf team posted a three-round score of 904 on the 72-par, 7313 yard course to finish 15th of 18 teams at the First Federal Southeastern Collegiate hosted by Valdosta State at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club.
Of the 18 teams, 10 were in the top 25 in NCAA Division II and five were from the top 10.
GSW’s Ethan Chamineak and Nicholas Ward both posted a three-round score of 224 to finish tied for 48th place out of 93 golfers.
Tyler Barker came in two strokes behind Chamineak and Ward with a score of 226 to tie for 60th place. Anders Olsson posted a 234 to tie for 84th place along with Fraser Johnston, who shot a tournament low 76 in Round three.
The Hurricanes head back to the links next week for the Bobcat Invitational, hosted by Georgia College at Cuscowilla Golf Club in Eatonton on March 21-22.
