AMERICUS — Incumbent sheriff of Sumter County, Pete Smith, seeks reelection.
He issued the following statement.
“Citizens of Sumter County, It has been an honor to serve as your Sheriff for the last 12 years. I am pleased to announce that I will be seeking reelection as sheriff of Sumter County in the upcoming election … I have qualified on the Republican ticket.
