City manager selects Patrick as Public Works Director

AMERICUS – The City Manager of Americus, Steve Kennedy, recently announced that Mark Patrick has been chosen to fill the position of Public Works Director of the City of Americus.
Patrick was one of three finalists for the position, and comes to Americus with over 30 years of experience as a professional engineer and a professional land surveyor. He currently serves as the City Engineer of the City of Milledgeville.
In addition, he was formerly the owner and manager of M.D. Patrick Engineering, Inc. and the Assistant Director of Public Works for the Athens-Clarke County government.
Patrick’s areas of expertise include the management of city water and sewer systems, storm water/ drain analysis and rehabilitation, capital project management, and roadway/ bridge design and maintenance.
Patrick holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and is certified by the Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission. His tentative start date is June 13, 2016.
