GSW scholarship donors, recipients connect at annual luncheon
AMERICUS— Scholarship recipients at Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) shared a meal with their benefactors recently at a luncheon honoring the two groups.
Sponsored by Georgia Southwestern and the GSW Foundation, approximately 160 donors and scholars were on hand for the event which took place in the private dining room of the Thomas O. Marshall Jr. Pavilion.
The featured speakers included Andi Reid, a senior nursing major and recipient of the Lillie Josey Dudley, Charles F. Crisp and Bebe Gibson Scholarships; and Thomas Flournoy, a senior accounting major and recipient of the James G. Deriso Scholarship.
“This luncheon is probably the most meaningful event that the Foundation puts on each year,” said Reda Rowell, GSW Foundation executive director. “Students really take advantage of the opportunity to personally thank their benefactors, and donors and their families cherish the experience to connect with the students they support.”
This was the eighth Donor/Scholar Luncheon organized by GSW and the Foundation. For information on how you can donate to the GSW Foundation, call 229-931-2014.
