Health inspections: June 18, 2016

AMERICUS — The following food service inspections were conducted by Sumter County Environmental Health.
• Sheppard House Restaurant, 1608-H E. Forsyth St., Americus — April 1 — 91 A
— Observed time/temperature control for safety (pork ribs, mashed potatoes) for hot-holding not held at 135 degrees F. or above. TCS food for hot-holding should be held at 135 degrees F. or hotter. Food will be discarded at the end of lunch service. Will give them time as a public health control procedures for things hot-held on the self buffet bar.
— Remarks: Spoke with the owner about the new food rules changes. Gave him the new handouts that explains the changes.
• Skyland Motel, 1512 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Americus — (tourist accommodation inspection) — Oct. 20, 2015 — 92 A
— Observed that rooms are dim/poorly lit. Observed burn marks on tub in room 110. Correct By: 04/01/2016.
— Observed poor ventilation in bathrooms.
— Observed carpet dirty and in poor condition (holes/worn spots). Correct By: 04/01/2016.
• South Georgia Technical College Cafeteria, 900 South Georgia Tech Parkway, Americus — Feb. 17 — 91 A
— Cooked potentially hazardous food (grits, hash browns in walk-in cooler) not cooled from 135 degrees F. to 70 degrees F. within two hours. Foods were discarded. Employees will be reminded to loosely cover hot foods, put on ice, etc. to rapidly cool down hot foods. Corrected On-Site.
• Southland Academy, 123 Southland Road, Americus  — March 2 — 100 A
• Speedy’s Eatery, 927 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Americus — May 19 — 97 A
— Observed molded bread in the reach-in cooler that was expired. Commercially-made foods should be thrown out once it is expired. Bread was thrown away. Corrected On-Site.
— Remarks: Spoke with the CFSM about the new food rules. Gave her the handouts that explained the changes.
• Spring Creek Marina, 100-C Cantey Drive, Cobb — March 25 — 96 A
— Observed spray bottle with quat sanitizer in it reading about the require sanitization concentration. Sanitizer was diluted and read the right concentration. Corrected On-Site
— Remarks: Spoke with the owner about the new food rules changes. Gave them the new handouts.
