Former GSW standout, Arnett, named POTY in pro Euro league

AMERICUS – Former Georgia Southwestern men’s basketball standout, Alan Arnett, was recently named the Slovakian 1 Professional League Player of the Year after leading MBK Lucenec to the league championship in 2015-16.
Arnett averaged 21.8 points per game and shot 65.1 percent from the floor as a rookie. He scored 20 or more points in 11 of the team’s 16 games and had a season-high 28 points on two occasions.
MBK Lucenec gets promoted to the Eurovia SBL in 2016-17 by winning the Slovakian 1 League with a 13-1 regular season record.
Over his two seasons at Southwestern (2012-14), Arnett averaged 14.7 points and 6.0 rebounds per game.
Arnett, a native of Kokomo, Ind., was named the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week on Feb. 4, 2013, and later that season to the PBC All-Conference Second Team. He averaged 16.6 points for the Hurricanes as a senior to lead the team, scoring 20 or more points on 11 occasions, including a career-high 34 points against Flagler College on Jan. 18, 2014.
