MARSHALLVILLE — Mrs. Ruby Jane Reavis Moss, age 93, of Marshallville died Tuesday, July 12, 2016, at Oaks Nursing Home in Marshallville. A native of Burke County, born June 23, 1923, she was a daughter of the late James Asberry Reavis and Susie Katherine Partain Reavis. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Wilson Lee Moss.  A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 14, 2016, at Oak Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Wendy Peacock officiating with music by Mrs. Candi Riccardi. The family will receive friends at the home of Becky and Larry Odum, 161 Riverside Drive, Cobb, Ga.

Mrs. Moss loved gardening, enjoyed writing poems and living at Perfect Care where she also enjoyed activities and social events. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star. She always wrote a poem at Christmas and had it delivered to the community to enjoy. Mrs. Moss had a poem published in The Theatre of Mind. She was an accountant for Moss Service Co. and a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. Mrs. Moss was always sweet and kind and enjoyed doing for others. She loved the church and God.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Alzheimer’s Association, Georgia Chapter, 225 Second St. E., Tifton GA  31794; Perfect Care Activity Fund, 114 Sullivan Drive, Americus GA 31709 or Oaks Nursing Home Activity Fund, 777 Nursing Home Road, Marshallville GA 31057.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Becky M. and Larry A. Odum of Cobb;  one sister, Edna Faulk of Batesville, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Nancy Collins (Hugh) and Mandy FitzGerald; four great-grandchildren, Bryce Collins, Brandon Collins, Riley FitzGerald and Emma FitzGerald.
