Nancy Jones Fitzgerald named Grants coordinator at South Georgia Tech

AMERICUS — Nancy Jones Fitzgerald of Americus has joined the South Georgia Technical College (SGTC) staff as a Grants coordinator on the Americus campus, announced SGTC President John Watford, Ed.D. Her appointment is effective immediately and she will be reporting to Vice President Student Affairs, Technology and Institutional Support Services Karen Werling. This is a grant funded position.
As a grants coordinator, Fitzgerald will be responsible for maintaining and monitoring certain federal and/or state grants as well as the administrative reporting and tracking documentation related to grants and institutional effectiveness reporting.
Fitzgerald has a bachelor of arts in political science from Valdosta State University. She has been employed as a high school American government, world history and economics instructor at Southland Academy in Americus for the past 12 years. She has also served as the owner/instructor at the Studio of Performing Arts in Americus since 2002.
She has extensive community service and development experience serving with the Junior Service League of Americus, Americus Main Street and Sumter Historic Trust.
She is married to Paul Fitzgerald and has a daughter, Cate, age 9. She is the daughter of Randy and Nancy Jones of Americus.
