During the month of July, Eaton’s Lighting Division plant in Americus held a school supply drive to benefit the Sumter County Intermediate School. The 220+ employees gave generously, which resulted in a donation of over 1,100 items of school supplies. The school supply drive was held as a competition between five teams of roughly equal numbers of employees and their departments. The winning team won an ice cream sundae party with 311 items, second place was Team 4 with 259, and Teams 1, 3, & 5 all tied for third with 200 items each. Since all five teams donated at least 200 items each, the entire plant will have a special lunch including ice cream as a thank you from the E-Support Team during their quarterly All-Hands meeting. The Eaton facility’s E-Support team is shown in the photo with the faculty of Sumter County Intermediate School when they delivered the donated supplies. The E-Support team is a group of volunteer employees who develop opportunities for the company and its employees to be involved in the community as a group, work on helping to improve areas of employee concerns, as well as to provide activities for the employees to participate in.
