GRIFFIN — Polly Blair Seymore Hutchinson, 90, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2016, at Brightmoor Hospice in Griffin, Ga. She was born June 28, 1926, in Sanford, N.C. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Americus and the WMU. Mrs. Hutchinson was also an honorary and active member of the Junior Welfare League, and a member of the Dogwood Garden Club and the Americus Literary Club.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 26, 2016, at Salem United Methodist Church. Burial followed in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family received friends 30 minutes prior to the service, from 10:30 to 11 a.m., in the fellowship hall of the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The League of the Good Samaritan or Salem United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Sheron and Rick Wood of Griffin, Ga.; her daughter-in-law, Donna Hutchinson of Newnan, Ga.; and a brother, Stephen Seymore of Myrtle Beach, S.C. In addition, she leaves behind three grandchildren: Tyler Hutchinson, Matthew (Mandi) Wood, and Whitney (Robby) Freeman; and three great-grandchildren: Finley Freeman, Rob Freeman, and Mayson Wood.
Mrs. Hutchinson was preceded in death by her husband, Edward L. “Hutch” Hutchinson; and her son Edward L. “Chip” Hutchinson Jr.
The family would also like to extend special thanks to Magnolia Manor Assisted Living and Brightmoor Hospice for the care given to Mrs. Hutchinson.
