AMERICUS — The 29th annual Taste of Sumter is from 6-9 p.m. Thursday on North and South Jackson Street in downtown Americus with tents lining the street. The long tradition of good food and entertainment for the whole family continues.
Eighteen eating establishments will be represented, offering up tasty samplings of local cuisine. They are Richelle’s Bakery, Bittersweet, Little Brother’s Bistro, Café Campesino, Two Dukes BBQ, Rosemary & Thyme, Juiced, Cousins Catering, City Grill, Perry’s Chicken, JJ’s Wings & Things, Sweet Georgia Baking Company, Pat’s Place, 1800 Mexican Restaurant, Bird Dog BBQ, Sumter Retirement Village, Madea’s Diner, and Koinonia Farm. Tastings range in cost from $2 to $5.
Live music includes The Plucktones and Brandon Wheeler.
Admission is $5 for adults, and $3 for students. Children under age three are admitted free. Wristbands will be given upon entry. The event lasts until 9 p.m.
