SYLVIA, N.C. — Richard Louie Holloway, 90, died on Sept. 5, 2016, in Sylvia, North Carolina, attended by his family. Louie was a native of Schley County, Ga. After serving in World War II he worked as a farmer and rural letter carrier. He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia Osborne Holloway, his parents Ed Lee Holloway and Molly Childers Holloway, two sisters Lillie Jones and Mildred Hite, and two brothers Edward Holloway and Earl Holloway.

He is survived by a daughter Harriet Holloway and son-in-law Michael Swords of Franklin, North Carolina; two sons, Bill Stribling and wife Maxine of Americus, Georgia and Jim Henderson and wife Karen of Cookeville, Tennessee; two grandsons, Brad Stribling and Michael Swords II; and three granddaughters, Cynthia Henderson, Erika Johnson, and Laura Henderson, as well as great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A graveside memorial will be held at 2 p.m. Oct. 7, 2016, at Ellaville City Cemetery.

Watson-Giddens Funeral Home of Ellaville is in charge of services.
