Prayers for those affected by Hurricane Matthew
We all need to remember those that were affected by Hurricane Matthew last weekend. We had a family member here that was hit in Jacksonville, Florida.
Our C-Heart, emergency responders, went to Savannah to help evacuate hospital, nursing homes, etc. The C-Heart is from Columbus and all around our area. They transferred some residents from a nursing home near Savannah to Magnolia Manor in Americus.
We had local people that work for the government who went to help out in Savannah, which we appreciate. Keep everyone in your prayers.

They went over to Andersonville and had lunch one day at Anderson  Station.

Local man called to Savannah for Hurricane Matthew
Jody Dillard of Ellaville was called to Savannah on Oct. 6, where he met  approximately 75 other law enforcement officers with the Georgia Department of Community Supervision. Their goals were to assist with public safety issues as the results of the hurricane damage and the evacuation of Savannah.
They were stationed at the Savannah Civic Center but during the hurricane they stayed in a hotel downtown.
Following the hurricane and storm, they patrolled the neighborhoods, reporting storm damage, and located and assisted with traffic issues.
Jody said that fortunately most of the city had been evacuated, and the citizens that remained were well behaved.
The officers were released to come home on Oct. 9.
We all thank Jody and all of the other officers that went to Savannah to help with hurricane damages.
