TIFTON – Jane Black McPherson, 76, of Tifton passed away Thursday, Dec. 8, 2016, at her residence.  Her funeral service was held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016, in the chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Dr. Wayne Roe officiating. Mrs. McPherson was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.  The family received friends from 3 p.m. until the hour of the service Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016, at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Mrs. McPherson’s grandsons, Reed McPherson, Connor McPherson, Zach McPherson, as well as, Gavin Hamby, Mike Holloway, Tim McPherson, and Ronald McPherson served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Merle Bowen Sunday School class at Tifton’s First Baptist Church.

Born April 15, 1940, in Americus, Mrs. McPherson was the daughter of the late Luther Lucius Black and Annie Everett Black. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Jim Black. She was retired as a bookkeeper for McPherson Systems and a member of Tifton’s First Baptist Church, where she was active in the Merle Bowen Sunday School Class.

Mrs. McPherson is survived by her husband, Donald McPherson of Tifton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Jane McPherson and Dan and Fran McPherson, all of Tifton; and four grandchildren, Reed McPherson. Connor McPherson, Zach McPherson, and Aubrey McPherson.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial gifts may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Southwest Georgia Regional Office, 225 E. Second St., Tifton GA 31794.
