Southland Academy offers a Career Interest Program (CIP) as part of the curriculum for high school seniors. This program, established during the 1975-76 school year, affords students a practical learning experience and a first-hand view of a career field of their choice. It is a one-week experience designed to give the student a close-up look at a particular career with as much actual responsibility and job activity as possible. The ultimate goal of this program is, of course, to assist students in making a career choice. Shown here, Southland senior, Mary Nell Rush enjoying her CIP week at Sumter County Primary School.
