AMERICUS — Mrs. Mary Jane Teate Sangster, age 80, of 2001S. Lee St., Americus, Ga., passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2017, surrounded by family and friends at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center in Americus, Ga. A graveside service will be held at noon Saturday, March 18, 2017, at Lane Cemetery in Vienna, Ga. The Reverend Tom Teate and the Rev. Eddie Braswell will officiate. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 2017, in the chapel of Aldridge Funeral Services.

Mrs. Mary Jane Teate Sangster was born Feb. 24, 1937, in Macon, Ga. Mrs. Sangster was a homemaker. She was also a member of Drayton Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Esbun Teate; mother, Mary Jane Fenn Teate; and spouse, Gene Sangster. She is survived by four daughters, Ann Brown (Rob) of Americus, Ga., Jeania McClung (Lynwood) of Plains, Ga., Sue Sangster of Buena Vista, Ga., and Sally Lester (Jack) of Macon, Ga.; two sisters, Johnnie T. Williams, Laura T. Cheek (Doug) of Americus, Ga.; one brother, Tom Teate (Myra) of Vienna, Ga.; 10 grandchildren, Amanda Butler (Brian), Johnathan McElroy (Kassi), Ben Yelverton (Amanda), Chris Law, Josh McClung (Debbie), Chelsey Yelverton (Herm), Kalan Law (Amanda), John Lester, Riley Lester, Alyssa Brinkley; nine great-grandchildren, Cullen Butler, Andrew Hall, Cadence Law, Ansleigh Butler, Alicia Cassidy, Allie Yelverton, Clay Law, Anna Briar McElroy, Hunter McClung; four nieces, Patti Bazemore, Suzi Benedict, Heather Bartlett, Shelley Gunter; four nephews, Chuck Cheek, Travis Cheek, Rusty Cheek, John Teate, and fifteen great nieces and nephews, Sara Beth Eubanks, Laura Kay Bazemore, Annie Bazemore, Madison Cheek, Tyler Cheek, Abbie Grace Cheek, Mattie Cheek, C.J. Jenkins, Elley Brooke Gunter, Brenley Gunter, Addie Gunter, Sally Gunter, Joshua Bartlett, Luke Bartlett, and Annalee Teate.
