After graduation, he began his distinguished career with “Old Mr. Pete” Knox Enterprises in Thomson, Georgia. In 1963, Tom moved his family to Augusta where he continued his career as a realtor, broker and appraiser. He was a man of many interests and hobbies. He especially enjoyed his coin collection and making the rounds of the coin shops enjoying the fellowship and conversations there. Tom was proud of his Southern heritage and was a member of the Sons of Confederacy, an expert on Civil War history and enjoyed the Civil War Roundtable Meetings. He was a 38-year member of West Lake Country Club. Tom was a voracious reader of history and his friends enjoyed his willingness to share his books as well as his stories with them. We must not forget his love of cards … gin rummy and liar’s poker, especially.
