Helen Beckwith recognized by Rainbow Garden Club
The Ellaville Rainbow Garden Club, at its March meeting, recognized Helen Beckwith with a lifetime membership to the Garden Club of Georgia and the local club recognized her as being a member for 26 years.
Faye Frazier, president of the Ellaville Garden Club, presented this special recognition at Perfect Care. It was a big surprise to Helen.
Over the past 26 years, Helen has served on many committees locally as well as the District level.
Her two sisters were present, Betty Jean (B.J.) Bryan and Marty Jane Arnold, for this special occasion.
The Rainbow Garden Club members served delicious refreshments.

Ellaville Methodist Women meet
The Ellaville United Methodist Women held their monthly meeting in the Fellowship Hall of the church.
President Barbara Usry called the meeting to order, and opened with prayer. The secretary was absent and the treasurer, Judy Gattis gave her report. Business was discussed for upcoming projects. Barbara Usry gave a very interesting program.
Nancy McMath Young was hostess and Barbara brought some delicious homemade cookies, lemon cheese cake which were served with a special drink she brought.
Those present other than those mentioned, were Judy McClellan, Nora Morrow, Sharon Wall and Judy Gattis.

Justices host Easter luncheon
On Easter Sunday, April 16, following the Children’s Resurrection Program at Unity Christian Fellowship Church, Wilbur and Vicki Justice hosted their Easter luncheon at their home on College Street in Ellaville.
Those in attendance, in addition to the hosts, were Jason and Dawn Justice, Liberty and Dixie Justice, Brian Justice, Jo Patterson, Keith and Anna Sims, Mary Katherine Justice, Caleb and Rebecca Justice, Conner and Madelyn Justice, Larry and Elaine Schlekewy, Greg and Robin Bell and Sara.
They served a delicious meal of baked ham, smoked turkey, zipper peas, potato salad, Cheddar’s Spasagna Casserole with Marinara, Long Horn’s Smoked Mac and Cheese Cabbage, green beans, congealed salad, cranberry sauce, deviled eggs, butter nut cake, carrot cake, Key lime cupcakes, tea, coffee,  lemonade and limeade.

Springtime Ellaville was a big day
The Ellaville-Schley County Chamber of Commerce held the annual Springtime Ellaville April 22.
In addition to all the booths, there was also a bed race, road race, dog contest, parade and ongoing entertainment.
Lots of former residents came for this special day.
Special prizes, some donated by local merchants, were given away all day.
This special event closed after the night performances of Andy Miller from 6-7 p.m., and Slaughter Creek from 7-10 p.m.

Justices attended reunion in Stockbridge
On Saturday morning, April 22, Wilbur and Vicki Justice traveled to Stockbridge to attend the annual Harris family at North Henry Baptist Church on Flat Rock Road, Stockbridge. This is the home of Vicki Harris Justice. She lived there her first seven years on the Old Conyers Road just a couple of miles from the church.
A large group of family members attending, but Vicki said attendance was down from previous years because it coincided with some school spring breaks.
A table was set up to share family photographs and tributes to those that are deceased. Also, genealogy records were laid out and shared.
They returned home late Saturday afternoon.
