ANDERSONVILLE — Mary Jo Peacock, age 80, of Andersonville, died Thursday, June 22, 2017, at her home. She was born Sept. 19, 1936, in Freeman, Va., to the late Marvin Darius Denton and Mary Josephine Rogers Denton.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 26, 2017, at Andersonville National Cemetery with Keith Wishum officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, June 25, 2017, at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel and at other times the residence of Ron and Susie Peacock, 632 U.S. Highway 280 East.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law: Martin and Rhoda Peacock, and Ron and Susie Peacock, both of Americus; a brother and sister-in-law, Marvin Denton Jr. and Sandra Denton of Milledgeville; and a sister-in-law, Saranne Peacock, of Americus. Also surviving are two grandchildren: Mary Beth Greene (Brock) of Ellaville and Curt Peacock of Americus; four great-grandchildren: J. B. Greene, Cutter Greene, Cash Greene, and Tyler Peacock; a special friend, Gwen Rucker; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Phoebe-Sumter Hospice, P.O. Box 1434, Americus GA 31709 or to the church of your choice.
