AMERICUS — Mr. Timothy Ray “Tim” Davis passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at his home in Americus.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 24, in the chapel of Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St., with Josh Echols officiating.
Born May 31, 1956, in Columbus, he was a son of the late James Alton Davis Jr. and Mitzi S. Davis, who survives him.
A devoted son, brother and uncle, Tim was an avid outdoorsman who especially loved fishing and being on the water. As a child, he spent most of his free time at his grandparents’ at Lake Blackshear. He had a big heart and was always willing to help others. He loved classic rock and roll, and he loved his dog, Cotton.
Tim served seven years in the United States Air Force and had worked as an EMT and as an engineer in Air Force Avionics at Lockheed Martin.
Survivors include his mother, Mitzi S. Davis; three brothers: David Davis (Sandy), James Davis III (Judy), and Jerry Davis (Shirley); one sister, Jacquelyn Henss; one sister-in-law, Paula Davis; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and by one brother, Dan Davis.
