AMERICUS — Marion Worrell Willis Groover, 84, of Americus, died Monday, July 10, 2017,­­ at her home. She was born Jan. 14, 1932, to the late Edward and Myra Sims Worrell. A native of Leslie, she lived in Americus the last 35 years. She was a graduate of Georgia Southwestern College and a retired caseworker with the Department of Family and Children Services. In addition, she was a member of First Baptist Church of Americus and the Benevolence Sunday School class, and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 13, 2017, at First Baptist Church of Americus with the Rev. Keith Parks and Dr. Lamon Moates officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at the church.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Karen Willis of Americus; a granddaughter, Rebecca Willis Wells and her husband Bryan of Buena Vista; a brother-in-law, Dan C. Groover of Atlanta; and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl A. Willis in 1962; her second husband, John T. Groover in 2010; and a grandson, Josh Willis in 2008.
