MARIETTA — Mr. Fox Stephens, age 94, of Americus, passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at A.G. Rhodes Health & Rehabilitation in Marietta, Georgia. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 29, 2017, at Rehoboth Baptist Church in Americus. The Rev. Greg Kirk and the Rev. James Beckett will officiate. Interment will follow in the Rehoboth Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 28, 2017, at Aldridge Funeral Services, 612 Rees Park.

Mr. Fox Stephens was born Aug. 13, 1922, in Sumter County, son of the late John Ed Stephens and the late Lula Finch Stephens. Mr. Stephens was a United States veteran having served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He managed the Sumter Livestock Association for 40 years. He was a member and past deacon of Rehoboth Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son Creig Fox Stephens and wife Barbara of Woodstock, Ga.; a brother Sam Stephens of Anderson, S.C.; and a granddaughter Paige Stephens of Woodstock, Ga. Mr. Stephens is also survived by a niece, Dorothy Jean McMichael of Americus and two nephews, Jimmy Skipper and Wray Skipper, both of Americus. One sister-in-law, Ruth Stephens of Thomasville, Ga.; and many other nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Mr. Stephens was preceded in death by his wife Myrtice Gruber Stephens, a sister Sara Stephens Adams and a brother Tom Stephens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Rehoboth Baptist Church, P.O. Box 641, Americus GA 31709.
