ALBANY — Mrs. Gloria Bedenbaugh Greene died Monday, July 24, 2017, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 28, 2017, at Palmyra Road United Methodist Church. The Rev. Joey Cannon will be officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Americus, Ga. The family will receive friends during visitation from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, July 27, 2017, Kimbrell-Stern.

Mrs. Greene was a retired school teacher, where she taught at Morningside Elementary School for most of her career. After retiring from the Dougherty County School System, she still remained a substitute teacher for many years. She was a graduate of Georgia Teacher’s College, Georgia Southwestern College, and Americus High School. Mrs. Greene was a longtime member of Palmyra Road United Methodist Church, where she would visit the shut-ins for the church. She was also a member of The United Methodist Women, where she was honored with the “Quiet Disciple” award on two different occasions. She was a loved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Mrs. Greene was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Kenneth Wayne Greene Sr.

Mrs. Greene is survived by: her children, Kenneth W. Greene Jr. (Shu-Chin Cheng) of Phoenix, Ariz., and Lisa G. Henderson (Kenny) of Albany, Ga.; her grandchildren, Chase P. Wooden of Panama City, Fla., Danielle Nicole Rogers of Phoenix, Ariz., and Kyle W. Greene of Forsyth, Ga.; her great-granddaughter, Bailey Reagan Rogers of Phoenix, Ariz.; and her beloved pet Benji.
