CORDELE — Mrs. Frances Cavender Restagno, 90, of Cobb, died Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017, at Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele. Born Jan. 12, 1927, in Sumter County, she was the youngest of the late Joe Henry and Ida Puckett Cavender.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017, at Lakeview Baptist Church with Dr. Brian Bentley officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service, from 1-2 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Restagno grew up in the Cutoff Community in Andersonville, and on Oct. 22, 1945, she married the love of her life Phillip “Rusty” Restagno. She was self-employed most of her adult life. She and her husband owned and operated Americus Collection Agency and Hanging Basket World for many years. In addition, she was also a substitute mail carrier.

She was a charter member of Lakeview Baptist Church where she served in many capacities including teaching Sunday school for many years. She was the oldest member of the church and was recently surprised with a party honoring her 90th birthday. She loved her Lord and her church family and friends, and was always willing to help anyone. Her passions were her flowers, fishing, and deer hunting with her son-in-law.

Mrs. Restagno is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Lamb of Cobb; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Rusty Restagno; son-in-law, Danny Lamb; and six siblings: Robert (Ruby) Cavender, Wilber “Mutt” (Polly) Cavender, Clyde (Roy) Saunders, Leone (A.J.) Dupree, and Beatrice Cavender.
