GSW women’s hoops roster finalized

AMERICUS – Georgia Southwestern State University head women’s basketball coach Kelly Britsky has announced her final player signings to round out the Lady Hurricanes roster for the 2017-18 season.
Tyisha Moore: 6-2 Junior (Deland, Fla.)
A transfer forward/center from Pensacola State College, Moore last played for the Pirates during the 2014-15 season when she appeared in 22 games and made 13 starts. She averaged 12.8 points on 43 percent shooting and added 8.2 rebounds per game. Moore was named the NJCAA Region 8/FCSAA Women’s Basketball Player of the Week on Nov. 19, 2014, after averaging 19.1 points, 12.1 rebounds and 2.0 assists in three games during the voting period.
Tamecia Blue: 5-5 Sophomore (Atlanta, Ga.)
Point guard Tamecia Blue joins the Lady Hurricanes after playing her freshman season at Alabama State in 2016-17. She recorded 55 minutes in seven appearances for the Hornets while scoring two points, grabbing six rebounds and dishing out three assists.
Amber Hicks: 5-7 Freshman (Americus, Ga.)
Guard Amber Hicks joins the Lady Hurricanes roster after graduating from Americus-Sumter High School in 2016. Hicks was a part of the Panthers 31-1 team in 2015-16, playing in 29 games as a senior and posting averages of 6.6 points, 2.2 assists, 2.1 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game.
Mickell Greene: 6-2 Freshman (Butler, Ga.)
Greene, a combo forward/center, joins the Lady Hurricanes after playing both basketball and volleyball at Taylor County High School. She graduated with a 4.0 GPA and was top 10 in her graduating class. Greene plans to pursue a career as an athletic trainer/physical therapist in college.
