Citizens Bank of Americus expands team of local bankers

AMERICUS — Long-time Americus bankers Vonda Rushing and Barry Blount have joined Citizens Bank of Americus. Rick Whaley, president/CEO of Citizens Bank of Americus, commented that Rushing and Blount have almost 40 years of experience each serving the banking needs of the Americus-Sumter County community.
Citizens Bank is very fortunate to have the addition of these two experienced and talented bankers to our existing team of outstanding bankers.
Rushing will be serving as vice president/operations manager at Citizens Bank. Prior to this, she served as regional operations manager for Synovus Bank. She is a graduate of Americus High School and several Georgia Bankers Association schools. She has been involved with several community organizations and lives in Americus with her husband, Mike Rushing.
Blount will be serving as senior vice president and loan production officer at the Tripp Street office. Prior to joining Citizens Bank, he served as the Americus market president for SB&T Bank/Synovus. He is a graduate of Georgia Southwestern College and the LSU School of Banking. He has served as mayor of Americus since 2006, and has been involved with various community organizations. He lives in Americus with his wife, Tami.
