AMERICUS — The Sumter County Chamber of Commerce presented Global Graphics owner, Jerry Hillhouse, the first “Small Business of the Month” designation for Sumter County. Global Graphics is located at 107 Hudson St., Americus.
The selection criteria begins with the reputation of the company’s honesty, integrity, quality of service, and customer satisfaction. Other measures are the company’s dedication to making the County a better place to live, work, and play for its citizens.  The economic support that this company contributes by growing jobs and supporting the overall economic growth of Sumter County is also significant. The “Small Business of the Month” must also be a member in good standing of the Sumter County Chamber.
Global Graphics will celebrate 20 years of being in business next year. “My motivation for opening my business, where I grew up, was to work with people and groups that I had known my whole life. I now get to work with a variety of other people who have moved here from different regions. Over the years, I have built lasting friendships and have met many people through the work I do as a graphic designer in Southwest Georgia,” said Hillhouse.
His advice to others that want to start their own business is to use their talent and passion to see their dream come true. Shortly after Hillhouse started his own business, he realized that it was not about chasing the money; it was about doing whatever you can do to ensure that your customers are 100 percent happy. The benefits of owning your business quickly will soon follow.
