AMERICUS — Mrs. Angie Widener Bishop, age 54, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017, at her home in Americus.

Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 6, at Bethel Baptist Church, with the Rev. Steven Golden officiating. Burial was to follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

The family received friends between the hours of 6 and 8 p.m. on Tuesday evening, Dec. 5,at Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St., and at other times at the home of Shirley Bell, 663 Bumphead Road in Americus.

A native and lifelong resident of Americus, Angie was born Oct. 7, 1963. She was an LPN at Flint River Healthcare in Montezuma, and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Lane Bishop; by her father, Milton Widener; by her stepfather, Herman Grady Bell; by her grandfather, Clarence Odell Smith; and by a brother and sister, Michael Bell and Kathy Bell Weaver.

Survivors include her mother, Shirley Smith Bell of Americus; one daughter, Alison Mapp (Jonathan) of Lafayette, Ala.; grandmother, Elizabeth Smith of Americus; two brothers: Donnie Bell of Thomaston, and Roger Bell (Vicki) of Buena Vista; one sister, Brenda Vartenisian of Macon; uncle, David Smith (Beth) of Swainsboro; great-uncle, James Law (Lillian) of Albany; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved fur babies, Boo-Boo and Mattie.
