• Firefighters responded to an alarm on East Jefferson Street. The laundry driver activated the alarm; there were no hazards.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident on Thomas Drive.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident on East Forsyth Street.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident at East Taylor and South Lee streets.
• Firefighters responded to Hampton Inn, 1609 E. Lamar St., where they rescued someone trapped in an elevator.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident on U.S. Highway 280 West.
• Firefighters responded to Second Montgomery Street to a report of a wire hanging in a yard almost touching a vehicle. Mediacom was notified.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on Peachtree Street which was activated by cooking; there were no hazards.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on North Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard; no hazards were found.
• Firefighters responded to a carbon monoxide alarm on Lawson Drive. The occupant told them the alarm activated when he lit the gas heater. No hazards were found.
• Firefighters responded to Williams Dry Cleaners, 609 N. Lee St. to a report of a possible structure fire. Workers were routinely blowing out the steam tank. No hazards were found.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident on U.S. Highway 280 East.
• Firefighters responded to Wendy’s, 1202 Crawford St., to a report of sparks coming from an outlet. They found faulty wiring connected to a refrigerator and observed an outlet covered in grease and removed all cords from their sockets. Store personnel were advised to contact an electrician.
• Firefighters responded to Flash Foods, 1101 Crawford St., to a report of a gas spill. They found a spill of a gallon or less and they put dry oil on it.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on North Jackson Street. The occupant said when she turned on the heat, she smelled smoke. No hazards were found.
• Firefighters responded to Beale and Hampton streets to an unauthorized burn where they found someone burning limbs in a barrel. The occupant was advised of the city’s no-burn policy and he was advised to extinguish it with his water hose.
• Firefighters responded to Southerfield Road to a burn complaint. They found a homeowner burning pine straw and sticks in the back yard. The homeowner was advised of the city’s no-burn policy, and they extinguished it.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident on East Lamar Street.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on Daniel Street which turned out to have been activated by burned food.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on Sullivan Drive.
• Firefighters responded to Tom Hall Circle to a report of smoke in the area. They found fire burning on open land. Georgia Forestry arrived with a bulldozer to mitigate the scene.
• Firefighters responded to the same scene because of a rekindling.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident at North Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and McGarrah Street.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident at East Glessner and South Lee streets.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on East Lester Street. They found malfunctioning smoke detectors.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm on Park Row Extension. It was activated by cooking.
• Firefighters responded to Sharon Drive to a report of wires down. They removed a wire from the roadway.
• Firefighters responded to South Hampton Street to a report of a stove fire caused by a pot of grease left on the stove.
• Firefighters responded to a traffic accident at North Hampton and West Lamar streets.
• Firefighters responded to a report of a gasoline spill at Flash Foods, 1101 Crawford St. Dry oil was used to absorb the approximately two gallons spilled due to a faulty nozzle.
• Firefighters responded to North Lee Street to a report of a gas odor. They could smell it inside the structure even though monitors did not. They cut off the gas and notified the gas department.
• Firefighters responded to Perfect Care, 124 Sullivan Drive to an alarm. The sprinkler system in the attic had activated it; there were no hazards.
• Firefighters responded to an alarm at the Windsor Hotel, 125 E. Lamar St. Activation was due to a “dirty smoke detector.”
