AMERICUS — Mrs. Eulene Head Williams, age 96, passed away early Thursday morning, Dec. 28, 2017, at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. Funeral services are planned for 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017, from the graveside at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Hugh DeLoach will officiate. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29 at Aldridge Funeral Services, and other times at the residence of David and Patricia Williams, 180 Packing House Road Americus.
Mrs. Williams was born Aug. 6, 1921, in Clermont, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin Head and the late Minerva Lucinda Hulsey Head. She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law David F. Williams (Patricia) of Americus; her daughter Susan Marie Wisham of Americus; her sister Jimmie Sue Womack of Americus; five grandchildren: Jennifer Williams Leavy of St. Simons, David Scott Williams (Jan) Augusta, Michelle Williams Ford (Kevin) of Dacula, Joshua Herschel Wisham, and Benjamin Aaron Wisham (Beth) of Americus; and seven great-grandchildren: Josephine Marie Leavy, William Howard Leavy, Katelyn Abigail Ford, Kendall Addison Ford, Caroline Lee Ford, Carson Elizabeth Williams, and Ella Catherine Williams.
Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband William A. Williams Jr.; her son James Michael Williams; four sisters: Jesse Dean Holman, Martha Lou Robson, Betty Jean Geeslin, and Joyce Marie Head; and two brothers: Joseph Franklin Head and James Truett Head.
