Americus and Sumter County were well represented at the 2018 College Football National Championship Game Monday in Atlanta, and not just by fans. Even though the University of Georgia Bulldogs lost the title to the University of Alabama Crimson Tide in a last-minute heartbreak, team spirit was rampant.
Tyler Clark, defensive tackle for the Georgia Dawgs, is a graduate of Americus-Sumter High School.
Caroline Carroll, a junior and member of the Georgette dance team, has just been accepted into the Walter F. George School of Law at UGA.
Tyler Richmond, who lives in Cobb, is a member of the UGA Red Coat Marching Band.
Those fans who couldn’t travel to the big game in Atlanta watched on TV whether in their own homes or at parties.
They shared their selfies with the Americus Times-Recorder’s Facebook page. See on oage B2.
