Ameris Bank’s Austen Carroll promoted to regional president

THOMASVILLE — Ameris Bank President Lawton E. Bassett III recently announced the promotion of Austen Carroll to regional president. He will be responsible for oversight of all core banking activities for the market areas of Thomasville, Colquitt, Cairo, Ellaville, Butler, Buena Vista, Moultrie, Albany, Cordele, Dothan, Donalsonville, Abbeville, Eufaula, Panama City and the Greater Tallahassee area.
“Austen has continuously proven himself as an exceptional leader,” said Bassett. “His expertise and experience are a tremendous asset to our team.”
Carroll joined Ameris Bank in 2009, as the market president for the Valdosta market, then in 2011 relocated to Savannah to serve as Ameris Bank market president for the Greater Savannah area. He most recently served as the market president for the Thomasville and Cairo markets.
Prior to joining Ameris Bank, Carroll worked in various leadership, commercial lending and asset management roles for Darby Bank & Trust and BB&T. Carroll received his bachelor’s degree in finance from Valdosta State University and is a 2010 graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University.
Austen and his wife, Holly, live in Thomasville and have three daughters.
