AMERICUS — Phoebe Sumter Medical Center announces the purchase of 25 acres of
land located on the corner of Ga. Highways 41 and 137 in Marion County.
“Purchasing this land is the first step in a major investment in healthcare in Marion County and shows our continued commitment to meet the needs of the patients we serve for many years to come. A larger, more modern facility will allow Phoebe to offer additional services closer to where residents live and work,” said Brandi Lunneborg, CEO, Phoebe Sumter Medical Center.
The property is the future home of Phoebe Primary Care of Buena Vista. Due to increased volume and the demand for access to specialty physicians in Marion County, Phoebe is out-growing its current location at 131 E. 6th St. The new facility will not only allow Phoebe to see more patients but also provide the opportunity to expand services in the future.
“We would like to thank the Murray Family, from whom we purchased the property from. They were very easy to work with and are behind this project for the betterment of their community,” continued Lunneborg.
Phoebe Physicians began operating the Buena Vista clinic in September 2017. It is staffed by Dr. Daniel Singleton and family nurse practitioner Sarah Cross. Phoebe Primary Care of Buena Vista will continue to provide care in its current location until the new clinic opens.
