AMERICUS — Plez H. Hardin, 48, of Americus, died Sunday, April 8, 2018, in Leslie. A native of Sumter County, he was born Feb. 15, 1970, to Delores Manry Hardin and the late Zackie Plez Hardin. He was a loving husband and father who loved attending his children’s activities and programs, spending time at the lake, and attending Atlanta Braves and University of Georgia games. After high school, he received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Georgia Southwestern State University and doctorate in law from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University, and was the Sumter County District Attorney. He was a member of Central Baptist Church and served on the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) board, a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity and the NRA.

Services will be held at 4 p.m., Thursday, April 12, 2018, at Central Baptist Church with Dr. Bryan Myers officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:30-4 p.m.

at the church.

Survivors include his wife, Robin Hardin, of Americus; and his children: Sarah Beth Hardin, Caroline Hardin, William Hardin, Mary Rachel Hardin, Carson Clements, and Bo Hardin. He is also survived by his mother, Delores Manry Hardin of Americus; two brothers and sister-in-law, Geoffrey and Stacey Hardin of Baltimore, Md., and Blake Hardin of Athens; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Stephanie and Blake Bennett of Americus; and nieces and nephews: Cate Hardin, Will Hardin, Libby Hardin, and Perry Bennett.

He was preceded in death by his father, Zackie Plez Hardin; and a brother, Hunter Clayton Hardin.
