Ashley Moates recognized at Auburn U.

AUBURN, Ala. — Auburn University announces that Ashley Elizabeth Moates has been named the Outstanding Student for the College of Liberal Arts for 2017-2018.
Moates, a senior from Americus, majoring in communication disorders, has a 4.0 GPA and was elected by the Auburn student body to serve as Miss Auburn 2017-2018. She has received numerous honors in addition to Miss Auburn, including the Sarah and Rebekah Pindzola Scholarship, the Auburn Heritage Scholarship and the True Blue Scholarship. During her time at Auburn, she was a member of Mortar Board, Cardinal Key, Omicron Delta Kappa, and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Moates serves others through her Miss Auburn platform, AUsome Dreams, making Auburn unique dreams come true for people with disabilities. She plans to pursue a master’s degree in speech language pathology at Auburn University in the fall and was awarded a Graduate Assistantship based on academic performance and research experience. She will also be working closely with the new Eagles Program which is a postsecondary program for people with intellectual disabilities.
