GSW ties school record with 32 student-athletes on PBC All-Academic Teams

AMERICUS – The student-athletes at Georgia Southwestern State University are taking care of business in the class room. The Peach Belt Conference has 32 GSW student-athletes on their 2017-18 All-Academic teams.
Men’s and Women’s Soccer, along with baseball. Led the way with six honorees a piece. The number of 32 ties GSW’s tally from the 2015-16 academic year. A total of 15 first-timers made this year’s list.
The Peach Belt All-Academic teams are part of a season-long program recognizing the outstanding accomplishments of PBC student-athletes in the classroom, as well as on the field.
To be considered for the PBC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must participate in at least half of his or her team’s events and be either a starter or a significant contributor. They also have to achieve a 3.30 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale, and they must complete at least one full academic year at his or her current school. The Peach Belt Sports Information Directors oversee and select the teams.
