Ellaville Methodist Church hosts Bible School
Ellaville United Methodist Church hosts Vacation Bible School starting the evening of June 10 and continuing through June 13.
This will be a very exciting Bible School with bible lessons, arts of all kinds, special activities, and refreshments.

Ellaville Methodist Church to hold Father’s Day Bake Sale
On Saturday, June 16 the women of Ellaville United Methodist Church hold a Father’s Day Bake Sale, starting at 9 a.m. in front of the Piggly Wiggly. The sale continues until all desserts are gone. If it rains, the sale will move inside the store.
All proceeds go to help the church celebrate its 160th anniversary on Oct. 14. More information will be released later.

Schley Family Connection announces upcoming events
Schley County Family Connection has some special events coming up.
The Schley County Family Connection is serving 150 free meals to the youth at Schley County High School. This began June 4 and continues through July. Hot meals are served Mondays through Thursday. These meals come from “Second Food Harvest — Feeding the Valley” in Columbus.
Academic Camps and Football Camps are the ones to participate in the meals. This program is not based on income.
The Schley County Family Connection provided grants for the Schley County 4-H District Project Achievement and the Schley County Public Library’s Summer Reading Program.
Technology awards were made to the Schley County High School Valedictorian Ginny Calhoun and Salutatorian Jordan Hall. The STAR Teacher William Rooks was also recognized.
Family Connection executive director, John Greene said they had a very successful Child Passenger Safety Training session recently in Taylor County in which he distributed seven convertible car seats and eight high-back booster seats to Medicaid-eligible children.
The Family Connection will distribute free school supplies in July at the Schley County Department of Family and Children Services to 250 low-income children. Fund raising and donations are needed starting next week.
