ALBANY — Mrs. Shirley McCrary Williams, age 82, passed away on Friday evening, Aug. 10, 2018, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.

Funeral services are planned for 2 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 13, at Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Steven Golden officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends on between the hours of 2 and 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, at Hancock Funeral Home, 427 S. Lee St.

A native of Americus, she was a daughter of the late Walter Lee McCrary and the late Izola Murchison McCrary. Mrs. Williams was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and worked for 28 years in accounting at Metalux and Cooper Lighting. She loved flowers, birds and butterflies. She was an avid traveler and enjoyed reading.

Survivors include her son, Brent R. Williams (Leigh); her daughter, Margaret Rene Williams; grandchildren: Stephen Williams, Michael Williams, Charles Williams, Kaye Rothenbuhler (Paul), and Philip Neville; great-grandchildren: Luke Rothenbuhler and Claire Rothenbuhler; and two sisters: Helen M. Coleman and Carolyn M. Wicker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Walter L. McCrary Jr.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the League of the Good Samaritan, 2001 S. Lee St., Americus, GA 31709.
