Reames Concrete expanding in Sumter

AMERICUS — Reames Concrete Co. is expanding its footprint in Sumter County with the construction of a new, state of the art manufacturing facility in the Ted Baldwin Business and Technology Park. The new footprint will include a production facility and retention pond, for approximately 10 acres in the park. Founded in 1978, Reames Concrete Co. has 12 locations in Georgia, including Americus. Specializing in commercial, educational and industrial projects, Reames has provided products and services for many local school systems and universities, commercial companies such as Walmart, Lowe’s, Kohls and Walgreen’s, and industrial facilities such as Frito Lay, Barrington Dairy, Weyerhaeuser, Fed Ex, Interfor and more.
Having broken ground in June 2018, Reames is making quick progress and anticipates opening the new facility in November 2018.
Barbara Grogan, executive director of the Sumter County Development Authority, shared that “Reames and the company’s leadership is great to work with. The Development Authority, which owns the Ted Baldwin Business and Technology Park for industrial development, is more than glad to partner with Reames and looks forward to a great future of an attractive, productive facility that not only provides a home grown, world renown product for Sumter County to share with the world, but also provides a great opportunity for our citizens to work and share their skills. Reames is known for developing attractive facilities, which will enhance the industrial park and be a calling card to other companies who might wish to locate in the park.”
