AMERICUS — Americus-Sumter High School (ASHS) recently hosted a catered event for more than two dozen visitors from Japan. The annual “Konu Delegation” luncheon was held Aug. 21 at ASHS.
The international visitors were treated to an array of traditional southern cuisine catered by instructor Nancy Green and her culinary arts students.
“My students participated at every stage of preparation,” said Green. “They enjoyed having an opportunity to show off their culinary skills.”
The menu included baked chicken, pineapple ham, collard greens, baked macaroni and cheese, and peach cobbler. Drinks included lemonade, punch, and pineapple water. “The students worked very hard, both with cooking and with serving,” Green said. “We are proud of our culinary students. They represented us well.”
