Norman tied for second and GSW tied for third after day one of Copperhead Championship

INNISBROOK, FL – The Georgia Southwestern State University men’s golf team is currently tied for third place after day one of the Copperhead Championship being played at the Copperhead Golf Course at the Innisbrook Resort. The tournament is being played Monday and Tuesday, October 15 and 16.

Individually, GSW golfer Vincent Norman is currently tied for second place after day one. Norman shot a 67 and a 68, shooting -7 under par total of 135. He is followed by Ryan Cahill, who is currently tied for 22nd place. Cahill shot a +2 over par score of 144 (74, 70). Tyler Barker is tied for 28th place. Barker shot a 76 and a 69 for a total score of -3 under par 145. Cole Madison shot a +6 over par score of 148 (75, 73) and is tied for 44th place while Elias Berkeland is tied for 61st place with scores of 78 and 74.

GSW, ranked at No. 47, closed day one tied for third place with a +4 over par 572 (292-280). No. 1 Barry University leads with a -14 under par 554 (274-280) followed by the Queen’s University of Charlotte, who shot -2 under par 556 (285-281). No. 7-ranked University of West Florida shot a +4 over par 572 (289-283) for a third-place tie as No. 16 Limestone College closes out the top five to cap day one. Limestone shot a +7 over par 575 (288-287).

Individually, Barry University’s Conor Richards sits in first place. Richards shot an -8 under par 134 with scores of 66 and 68. West Florida’s Christian Bosso and Barry’s Tyler Bakich are tied for second place. They both shot a -7 under par 135 with scores of 65 and 70 and 69-66 respectively. Tim Bombosch from Wingate University closes out the top five, shooting a -6 under par 136 (66-70).
