ASHS Panther football players earn All-Region honors

AMERICUS – Several members of the 2018 ASHS football team earned first team, second team and all-region honorable mention honors.

Five players earned First Team All-Region honors. Three earned Second Team All-Region honors and 10 made the All-Region Honorable Mention List.

Two ASHS offensive players were named to the All-Region First Team: junior wide receiver Lemario Larry and junior offensive lineman Eric Aldridge. Three ASHS defensive players earned First Team All-Region honors: junior defensive back Trevian Thomas, senior defensive back Jakobe McCuller and senior Montrellis Wilson.

Two ASHS offensive players earned Second Team All-Region honors. They were senior quarterback Kierston Harvey and junior wide receiver Quevoluia Willoughby. One Panther defensive player was named to the All-Region Second Team: senior linebacker Chase Jones.

Ten other Panthers made All-Region Honorable Mention. They were senior wide receiver Sam Crumbley, sophomore offensive lineman Cameron Dunnings, senior offensive lineman Spencer McDowell, senior defensive lineman Demarquil Myers, senior defensive lineman Shaquille Colbert, junior defensive lineman Jawarren Lawrence, junior linebacker Bradley Perry, senior linebacker Frank Lewis, senior linebacker Mike Flemmings and junior linebacker A.J. Stokes.

ASHS junior wide receiver Quevoluia Willoughby was one of two ASHS offensive players to earn Second Team All-Region honors.

Congratulations are in order to all of these fine young men for their accomplishments. Ten of these men are seniors and many of them will go on to play football at the college level. The rest will be back next year for their junior and senior years to help the Panthers improve from this past season.
