Consider donating to Toys For Tots this Christmas Season
The Thanksgiving meal is over, the turkey is all gone and now the Christmas Season is finally upon us. A festive, joyous, and happy time for most families in our area, except for those who are less fortunate. In an effort to make sure no child is without a toy this Christmas, each Georgia State Patrol Post is teaming up with the Marine Corps Reserve for the 10th consecutive year to sponsor their annual Toys For Tots Campaign.
During December, the Georgia State Patrol will be working to collect new, unwrapped toys that will be distributed as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in our local community. Monetary donations are also accepted. All Toys For Tots Donations goes to providing toys, books, and other gifts to the less fortunate children in our community.
Last year, the Toys For Tots program provided Christmas gifts to over 100 needy children in both Schley and Macon Counties. Many of these children would not have had Christmas gifts if it was not for the generosity of the Toys for Tots campaign. The program also provided gifts to needy children in all of the counties patrolled by Post 10.
The gift distribution through the Toys for Tots program was implemented through the Schley and Macon Co. Department of Family and Children’s Services. Applications were screened, processed and distributed to families who were in the highest need of services in Schley and Macon Counties.
If you would like more information about the Toys for Tots program or would like to donate a toy or make a monetary contribution, please contact Sergeant Richard Peck or Trooper First Class Cody Vaughan at 229-931-2397. You may drop off toys or monetary donations at the Georgia State Patrol Post 10, 113 William Bowen Pointe, Americus, GA 31709. Toys For Tots drop off boxes are currently located a multiple local business locations throughout the area.
Please consider donating to the Toys For Tots Program sponsored by the Georgia State Patrol Post 10 for our area. The ultimate success of this program depends on the support of the local community and the generosity of the people like you who donate toys.
