Kevin Mournighan’s fifth-grade exploratory class at Furlow Charter School is working on a project with dual significance. To many of the scholars, they are learning about countries from around the world as they create a document to list and show pictures of different aspects of multiple countries. At the same time, Mournighan and his 11th-grade service learning scholar, Tristan Yawn, are teaching these young scholars about how to create a Google Document and format information in that document: adding pictures, spacing, fonts, headers, and footers, etc. Shown here working on their documents are and Elizabeth Arizmendi, Shanbreeka Thomas, and Keiona Edmonds.
